In 1970, the family business of Jr. Mills Cycle World…now Cycle Connection Harley-Davidson/Buell was founded in a midtown location in Joplin, Missouri. The business held on tight through the ups-and-downs of the Harley-Davidson history in a 3,000 square foot facility. As the Harley brand and its’ growth sky-rocketed, we too began a new era at Cycle Connection on July 17, 1999, when we opened a new facility at 5014 South Hearnes Boulevard (I-44, Exit 6) which expanded our dealership to 15,000 square feet. Then on April 21, 2007, a celebration marked another period of growth which touted Cycle Connection’s newly expanded 40,000 square foot facility. The dealership has an extremely knowledgeable and trained staff and carries a full-line of MotorClothes, Parts, Motorcycles, Finance and Insurance and a 14,000 square foot state-of-the-art Service Department complete with a high-tech Dyno.
Throughout the years there are several areas of importance to owners Scott and Nancy Hutson that have not wavered…their commitment to fulfilling the dreams of motorcyclists and enthusiasts and their aim to create “legendary” moments for their family of customers.
Without our customers…there is no business and our business has been blessed with great customers! The Hutsons believe another area of significance for creating “legendary” moments is giving back to those customers and the community that have brought them to where they are today. Cycle Connection strongly supports their Joplin H.O.G. Chapter in monthly meetings, year-round rides and events and helping to maintain a hardship fund for the brotherhood of riders within that Chapter. Also, there is a multitude of charitable causes that they support including twice a year a specially organized ride for the Association for the Blind and children who are visually impaired giving those children a chance to feel the wind in their faces and the amazing freedom of riding on a Harley…legendary! A great deal of effort is put forth throughout the year in raising funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association including the Annual MDA Ride for Life, an Annual Black & Blue Ball and even hosting the local broadcast of the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon in the dealership along with opening their doors for many of the local MDA families who are affected by neuromuscular diseases.
Cycle Connection has a Community Impact Committee, made up of employees, that focuses on giving support to a whole host of local events that support many other charitable efforts and community enhancing projects. Philanthropically, Cycle Connection is actively involved in the Joplin Area of Chamber of Commerce, the Joplin Humane Society and the Wildcat Glades Audubon Center which sits adjacent to their facility.
"Legendary" is something special at Cycle Connection and Scott and Nancy Hutson and their staff welcome the opportunity to help create a "legendary" moment for you and include you among the brotherhood and family of their dealership.
