Rider's Edge®

New Rider Course

The idea behind Cycle Connection Harley-Davidson's Rider's Edge® New Rider Course is simple: we want to enable new riders to experience motorcycling while learning the basic skills in a way that's fun and involving.

Here's why this course is unique.

CYCLE CONNECTION HARLEY-DAVIDSON/BUELL
The New Rider Course is offered at Cycle Connection Harley-Davidson/Buell, where you get added support of a knowledgable staff and a complete riding facility.

MOTORCYCLE SAFETY FOUNDATION® (MSF) CURRICULUM
The New Rider Course uses the proven curriculum of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's® Beginner RiderCourseSM with a twist provided by the enthusiasts at Cycle Connection Harley-Davidson and Buell.

CLASSROOM AND RANGE
The New Rider Course includes about 25 hours of instruction, both in the classroom, where you'll learn the basics of riding safety, and on a controlled practice range, where you'll hone the skills that will make you ready for the road.

For behind the bars
training students must...

 

>Be at least 15 ½ years old

>Be able to balance a bicycle

>Have a valid automobile driver’s license or learner’s permit

>Wear long-sleeved shirt or jacket, jeans, sturdy over-the-ankle boots or shoes, full-fingered gloves, protective eyewear

>Wear a DOT approved helmet

Motorcycle

 

You’ll be riding the 492cc Buell® Blast® motorcycle, a light, easy to handle sportbike with a rider-friendly design that will have you feeling in control.

 

Course Fee

 

$275.00 per person, which includes the use of the Buell® Blast® and the MSF® Rider Handbook

The course is held over four days. All sessions are mandatory, so make sure the course fits into your schedule.

 

 

Times are as follows:

   Thursday: 6:00pm to 9:00pm

   Friday: 6:00pm to 9:00pm

   Saturday: 8:00am to 5:00pm

   Sunday: 8:00am to Completion

SKILLED RIDER COURSE

Requirements

To take this course, you will need:

 Jeans, sturdy over-the-ankle boots or shoes, full-fingered gloves, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, protective eyewear, and
 A helmet that meets DOT specifications
 Valid motorcycle endorsement

Motorcycle

You’ll be riding your own motorcycle, so we'll need Proof of Ownership and Proof of Insurance

Cost

The Skilled Rider Course costs $125 per person.

The course is held 6-8 hours held one day taught by certified instructors.
