Harley’s Heroes™ Program Overview

Veterans are important members of the Harley-Davidson family

The mission of the Harley’s Heroes™program is to reach out to millions of veterans of all generations to show the high honor the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Harley-Davidson give them as a result of their service and sacrifice to our country.

It’s a natural partnership since many veterans have a love affair with the iconoclastic Harley® motorcycle. The Harley’s Heroes™ program will provide in-community services to veterans of all ages in communities where they live by supporting the programs of DAV.

Veterans Need Our Support

Many veterans live daily with injuries and illnesses suffered during their service to our country. Many disabilities can take years to be noticed and diagnosed. These disabilities can become pronounced and limiting. Physical and emotional scars can go untreated because veterans may have difficulty navigating the sometimes complex application process of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

For other veterans, they need more day-to-day assistance such as a ride to a medical appointment or benefits claims assistance. The programs of DAV are in place to assist in these everyday life needs.

Harley-Davidson Foundation Gift

The Harley-Davidson Foundation has pledged $1 million over four years to DAV to support the Mobile Service Offices (MSOs) program. Donations raised through Harley’s Heroes™activities at Harley-Davidson dealerships will be used to expand the services of the DAV MSO as well as other DAV programs.

Supporting All Generations of Veterans

Many of the veterans who need our services fought in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. So far, 1.4 million service members have served in those wars and nearly 60,000 have been wounded or injured. Many are unaware of their benefits or even their eligibility to receive earned compensation and benefits.
