Ways To $AVE - Pre-Paid Maintenance

The Cycle Connection Pre-Paid Maintenance plan is a great for you to keep your Harley-Davidson or Buell motorcycle in tip top mechanical shape and save yourself a bunch of money at the same time. During these challenging economic times saving money is always a good thing!

On new bikes the PPM plan covers 5 major services (1K,5K,10K,15K,20K) and your first rear tire. The cost is broken down by family of bike with savings ranging from 35-39%. This way you can be assured that everything Harley recommends at any given service interval is done to their specifications at a sizeable savings to you.

On used bikes the PPM covers 4 major services and one rear tire. The plan picks up from wherever you currently are on miles on your bike. For example if you have 8,000 miles on your bike at the present time, the PPM plan would cover your 10K,15K,20K, and 25K services. The cost is broken down by family of bike here as well with savings ranging from 31-35%.

Call 417-623-1054x226 or come by and see Rob if you have questions or would like to sign up for the PPM plan.

A Familiar Face Accepts a New Challenge!

We are proud to announce the newest member of the service department, Mr. Chris O’Brien. Many of you probably know Chris, because he has been a part of our family at Cycle Connection since 2001. Before Chris accepted this new challenge he succeeded in many other areas here at our dealership; he started out as a service technician and then moved to the vehicle sales department. Chris has enjoyed every endeavor, and is looking forward to helping the service department continue to grow.

Chris’ passion for motorcycles began with his Honda 90cc when he was only eight years old. As a little boy he loved riding his Honda around the farm his parents owned in southwest Missouri. It wasn’t until 2000 when Chris got the bike of his dreams… a 2000 Buell M2 Cyclone. Chris enjoyed the intuitive handling of his M2. He felt it redefined what a frame should be, a front brake should be and what a sporting engine should be. He enjoyed taking trips through the curvy roads of Oklahoma and Arkansas. Now, just like many Harley-Davidson dealership employees, Chris’ road trips consist of a spin around Joplin on a test ride.

Scott and Nancy Hutson, the owners of Cycle Connection are excited to see what positive changes Chris will make in the service department. Nancy had this to say, "Chris has been such a loyal and dedicated employee over the years and it was the perfect fit for him to take on the challenge of the Service Department. It is our single largest department in the store and his experience will, no doubt, serve us well." Chris has stated many times that he is fortunate to have such a strong team of technicians to work with. He is proud to say that between himself and the 9 technicians that are under him there are 79 years of experience crammed behind our service department doors!

Scott feels confident that Chris understands better than any one person in this dealership the demands of technicians as well as our customers. In vehicles sales Chris was part of a team that has consistently ranked as the best in customer service in our district. Scott knows Chris will bring that type of commitment to customer service to our service area as well. When asked what he would focus on in his new position Chris said, “I feel building strong, positive, trusting relationships with our service customers is my single most important task. Along with making sure my technicians and I pay a great deal of attention to every detail. Our customers expect a lot from us as a dealership and I want to exceed their expectations!”

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK!

It was worth A LOT to me. I was passing through from a long road trip (Wichita, KS to Nashville, TN and back), and my rear tire looked pretty bad. Not only did you guys get me in right away but you also found a hole in my drive belt. I had 10 days left on my warranty. You didn’t have the belt in stock but had one in Tulsa. Somehow you got the belt to the shop that night had my bike torn down and first thing in the morning you had it put back together and covered it under warranty! Thanks for being great at what you do. That kind of competence and service is worth the 3 ˝ hour road trip to get my bike serviced every year.

Steve P., Cheney, KS

I wanted to write and let you know of the great experience I had at your dealership. While returning from sturgis to my home in North Carolina I began to experience a problem with my 2007 FXSTC. I made my way to a HD dealership in a state to the west of you and they made an honest effort to help me. They checked my battery but were unable to find any problems so I headed for home hoping I'd make it and holding my breath every time I tried to start my bike. On Friday, August 7th, the bike barely started and it was becoming increasingly obvious there was definitely a problem. I found Cycle Connection in my HOG Road Atlas and took off for Joplin. Since it was already late morning on a Friday I was hoping for the best- but fearing the worst. It was around 1:30 pm when I arrived at your dealership and walked into the service department. I met Chris Conrad and explained my situation to him. I was stunned to hear him say he would have someone look at the bike immediately. I fully expected a long, but totally understandable, wait in your customer lounge. Within approximately 30 minutes Chris tracked me down while I was exploring the showroom and explained the problem was a faulty battery. Within 1 hour and 30 minutes of the time I rode onto your parking lot, Chris and your technicians had diagnosed my problem, gone "above and beyond" to find the needed battery that was not in stock, installed the battery, repaired some other bad wiring issues and put me back on the road home! My only regret is that geography makes it impossible for me to do all of my "bike related" business with Chris Conrad and Cycle Connection. Please accept my thanks and best wishes for your continued success!
